5 U.S. soldiers will stand trial for murder of Afghan civilians

According to the German "Der Spiegel" reported on September 13, five U.S. soldiers in Afghanistan on suspicion of murder of civilians, now facing war crimes charges. The scandal is not only a threat to the U.S. image abroad, Obama to restore the impact of the efforts of the Bush era are abuses suffered a serious setback.

This five soldiers from the Kandahar region in the second infantry division, aged from 19 to 29 years old. They are called "death squads" will be tried in military court in Seattle. They face charges of war crimes, including premeditated murder of three Afghan civilians. Another seven soldiers were charged with these murders and they are some complicity, some tried to cover up the truth. If convicted, these people may be sentenced to life imprisonment.

25-year-old from Montana Sergeant Calvin Gibbs is this "death squads" in the highest rank of the person, and is thought to planning the murder of 3 persons, the remaining members of hands-on shot. Obviously, these people will be killing as a sport, they wantonly opened fire on the victims, to collect the victims fingers, toes or teeth as a trophy.

Although the case is not conclusive, but the U.S. image abroad has been threatened. The case is reminiscent of Guantanamo, waterboarding and other abuse, and child terms, people also questioned whether the United States actually forced the Iraqis from Abu Ghraib prison, a bad image of the naked pyramid freed. In addition, since the Obama White House, the United States really change it? It is now mid-term elections only two months, "death squads" event will allow Obama and the Democratic Party is clearly the situation worse.
